Staying Connected: Our School's Text Messaging Promise

At YPI Charter Schools, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our students and their families. This page outlines how we use SMS messaging for school communications.

What Personal Information is Collected:

  • We collect parent/guardian mobile phone numbers for the sole purpose of sending school-related SMS messages. This information is provided directly by parents/guardians during student enrollment or through parent-provided updates to contact information.
  • We do not collect any other personal information through our SMS communication system.

How Personal Information is Used:

  • Our use of SMS messaging is strictly limited to school-related communications.
  • We use SMS messaging to provide timely and important information about student-related matters. This may include:
    • Attendance notifications.
    • School closure or emergency alerts.
    • Event reminders (e.g., parent-teacher conferences, school events).
    • Urgent messages regarding student safety or well-being.
    • One-on-one messages from our staff about your YPI Charter Schools student.
Who Personal Information is Shared With:

  • We do not share, sell, or distribute your mobile phone number or any SMS communication data with third parties.
  • Access to your SMS data is restricted to authorized school personnel who require it for official school communication purposes.

SMS Consent:

  • By providing your mobile phone number to the school, you consent to receive SMS messages for the purposes outlined on this page.
  • Please be aware that message frequency may vary, and message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
  • You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying "STOP" to any message received, updating your contact preferences on your Infinite Campus Parent Portal, or contacting the school's main office to update your contact preferences.
  • Please be aware that opting out of SMS messages may limit your ability to receive timely and critical school information.
  • For assistance, text “HELP” or contact your school's main office

Data Security:

  • We take reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality and security of your mobile phone number and SMS communications.

If you have any questions or concerns about anything on this page, please call (818) 834-5805 and ask to speak to the Director of Technology and Integration. If you need help with receiving or stopping SMS communications, please contact your school's main office.
